mayercraft music
Steve & I have never been on a cruise before… and holy cow – this ship was HUGE!
And it's decor was… well, as you can see - totally over the top. Needless to say, I'll be seeing pink dots in my sleep for the next week.
But the best part of the ship was the Lido Deck…
…this is where Mr. Mayer jammed away as we sailed off to Cabo.
In addition to John being on the boat, there were 12 other talented musicians/bands that played in various clubs or decks on the boat from 2-12 everyday. It was a pretty sweet set-up. There are actually a variety of the music cruises put on by the same group that put this one together… (like ones with Lyle Lovett, Bare Naked Ladies and even Lynyrd Skynyrd!)
Some of our favorite acts (besides John) on the boat were…
Guster - grooving to their song – Satellite
Martin Sexton – digging his song Happy
Pictures & Sound – my favorite new find… if you likeColdplay – check these guys out
David Ryan Harris - my song pick: Yesterday Shutting Down
James Hunter – check out the tune: Don't Do Me No Favors
And the cool thing is… all the musicians (besides John) roam the boat pretty regularly, which makes for a fun ambiance on the ship. After 4 days of live music, it's safe to say our ears had the best vacation ever!
played with your food lately?
If your kiddies are getting bored with the same old lunch menu, surprise them with some wild creations like these from Little Nummies.
The monkey sandwich is my favorite – and I don't know about that 'snail trail'… a little too realistic for my taste.

recycled Corona bottle glasses $8.95 When you pour your morning O.J. in this super cool juice glass, you can dream about having the real thing…after work. We've seen a handful of guys come past the catching fireflies window where these are displayed and take a long glance. One guy actually took a picture with his cell phone! I guess it's never too early to be thinking about father's day.

brett dennen
I like lots of this boy's tunes like… Make You Crazy
and Blessed
and Ain't No Reason
A review reads, "Remember that counselor from summer camp, the one who would always bring out his acoustic guitar and get all the kids to sing along to James Taylor and Van Morrison? That's 28-year-old Brett Dennen in a nutshell: His clear, melodic voice and easy-like-Sunday-morning compositions are both benign and comforting on Hope for the Hopeless" – Leah Greenblatt
