the pretty sounds of denmark
I first stumbled upon Choir of Young Believers while listening to 101.9 DET – Ann Delisi's Essential Music (which if you live in Metro Detroit, I highly recommend tuning in on Saturday & Sunday afternoons) Their song, Action/Reaction is my fav…
A little bit about them…"When
listening to Denmark’s Choir of Young Believers, it’s hard not to
imagine an army of white-clad singers with arms outstretched, their
voices raised in holy polyphony—in fact, the Danish group is the
brainchild of one 26-year-old Jannis Noya Makrigiannis. His orchestral-pop project marked by
magisterial melodies, dark lyrical concerns, and a healthy dose of
cathedral-grade reverb has musical nods to Roy Orbison, The Beach Boys, Pixies, and Hank Williams
abound, but Jannis and his Choir Of Young Believers have forged their
own neck-tinglingly singular sound."

I was born
I was born to be with you
In this space and time
After that and ever after I haven't had a clue
Only to break rhyme
This foolishness can leave a heart black and blue
Only love, only love can leave such a mark
But only love, only love can heal such a scar
I was born
I was born to sing for you
I didn't have a choice but to lift you up
And sing whatever song you wanted me to
I give you back my voice
From the womb my first cry, it was a joyful noise
Only love, only love can leave such a mark
But only love, only love can heal such a scar
Justified till we die, you and I will magnify

Only love, only love can leave such a mark
But only love, only love unites our hearts
Justified till we die, you and I will magnify

I made my way over to the well known Potter's Market a couple of weekends ago mainly to scoop up some of Lori Rodgers fun little tiles.
It was hard to choose from all her cute characters, and even harder to decide which ones to give away and which ones to keep! Lucky for me she has an Etsy Shop if I have a hankering for more. Maybe someday we can get some of her cuties at catching fireflies.

Great Stocking Stuffers For Christmas 2009
It's that time of year again and the stockings are hung by the
chimney with care. The question is will there be anything fun in them
this year besides candy, pens, and scotch tape. That's usually what my
stockings tend to be filled with but it doesn't have to be that way!
So guys here are some great stocking stuffer items that you can get
your special woman this year. Girls, taken note … you might even want
to pick some of these up yourself … after all, it is from Santa, so
no one has to know you bought it yourself.

One of the many things I'm thankful for is friends who encourage me to be creative just because. It's really easy for me to get wrapped up into doing things solely for work so when I got the invite from my friend Michelle to participate in an artist ornament exchange, I accepted the challenge and came up with this silly character
I gathered up some burnt-out retro Christmas light bulbs. colorful wire, assorted beads and handmade paper. After shaping & sizing the wire wings & beaded eyes, I removed them so I could hot glue paper to the wings. Then after cutting around the edge of the wings, I reassembled the 3 parts and wired them together & reinforced them with hot glue.
After adding a beaded hanger, I packed them up to send off to the other 7 participating artists (2 of them in Norway!) When I receive all the other ornaments, I'll share their creative works with you. Wishing you a bright & merry holiday season!
