calling all peanut butter fans
Another scrumptious cookie recipe for you! Our design studio manager, Todd celebrated a birthday last week and he mentioned his favorite baked good was flour-less peanut butter cookies. I scratched my head and googled away… and sure enough there were lots of rave reviews for these tasty morsels.
Super simple ingredients… 2 cups of peanut butter, 2 cups of sugar, 2 eggs and 2 teaspoons of baking soda. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350'
No surprise… they taste very peanut-buttery and very good. Next time I plan to add a few chocolate chips to the mix since I'm a sucker for that deadly combination (a new recipe including those 2 ingredients coming soon:)
Our dog Gus even helped out by cleaning up the empty jar for the recycling bin :)

4 ingredients away from yummmmm!
I must first warn you that these cookies are super simple to make and are very easy to eat. Now that I've posted my official warning let me proceed with sharing my new favorite cookie recipe.
This is just one of the many scrumptious recipes I found in 101 Things To Do With A Cake Mix.
1 box of chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 Butterfinger candy bar (but I used two… because really, can one have too many Butterfingers?)
Mix the first 3 ingredients together. Crush candy bar and stir in dough. Preheat oven to 350' and bake for 10-12 minutes on greased cookie sheet.
The result… brownie-esque cookies that are so-so good and all for less than $3 bucks a batch! Plus you can get creative with other flavors of cake mix and candy bars. These are definitely my new go-to sweet snack to make when I'm in need of a little sugar ride. (which is usually everyday;)

spring break download
For all you lucky ducks who are headed south this week, consider downloading this poppy tune by The Drums to get ready for the sun.
A Rolling Stone review reads, "On
their debut six-song EP, Summertime!, this Brooklyn quartet pump out
spiky post-punk jams spiced up with whistling, schoolyard chants,
Eighties synths and so much joyous hand clapping, you'd think you were
at a high school pep rally. These guys look like skinny hipsters, but
their tunes are the furthest thing from uptight: They dig bike rides,
cute babies and Sixties-style love-ins ("Saddest Summer"). And when
frontman Jonathan Pierce beckons you to the beach on "Let's Go Surfing,"
it's enough to make the most subterranean art rocker hang five. One of
the best indie-pop debuts of the year." –KEVIN O'DONNELL

the personalized pretties go to…
Thanks so much for participating in our have-it-your-way giveaway. It was fun to see what you chose to personalize. Also, thanks for
spreading the news to your friends through facebook, twitter and email
forwards. Word of mouth has always been our best form of advertising
and we couldn't do it without YOU!
Out of all our entries, these are our three winners…
Mary would like to personalize the "love celebration" one. "I am redoing my bedroom and having just gotten married 6 months ago it would be a perfect thing to add to the room!"
Julie Glazebrook wants the wine sign. "I'd choose the "Wine Tasting" frame, for certain! We have a wine named after our family and it would be just perfect!
Love all of the choices, though:)"
And Stephanie forwarded our email.
Congratulations gals! We hope you enjoy your personalized pretties.
art inspired by miss alice
I joined in making Alice in Wonderland #1 in the box office for the 3rd week in a row. And to no surprise, Tim Burton's whimsical & wild world has inspired many other artists too. Here are a few fun Alice inspired goodies I found this weekend on Etsy…

a little bit of France in my backyard
Even though I live less than a mile away from this unassuming little pastry shop, I made my way through Le Petit Prince's doors for the first time this weekend. I indulged in a butterlicious cherry turnover and Steve scored a couple cookies but I have to say I was most impressed by their artistic chocolate creations.
I could hardly bear to eat these delightful sculptures, but I do recommend you pay a visit to this edible art gallery before the Easter Bunny comes to visit.

style lush feature
(excerpt)
Let's face it, even if you LOVE your desk job, you probably don't LOVE
every second of it–endless conference calls, meetings about meetings,
getting cornered in the lunchroom by the close-talker, post-tuna
sandwich…. But sometimes all it takes is a little pick-me-up to
lighten the mood, and that's why the goddess of office
supplies invented tabletop accessories that aren't just practical but
also pretty and fun. I'm not afraid to admit that, more than once,
sharpening my pencil in the business end of a hand-painted vintage
canary has been the highlight of my workday. So, desk jockeys, this
one's for you.
Alligator Stapler from Catching Fireflies, $16.95. Because it just makes sense.
