My favorite treat recipe during the holidays is from my husbands side of the family.
Our family calls them “Twisties”
Ingredients:
1 pounds Butter
Finely Chopped Walnuts (whatever amount you like)
White Sugar (whatever amount you like)
1 Package Filo dough (2 sheets per roll/twist)
Preheat Oven 350
Mix Walnut & Sugar in a bowl
Butter pan
butter 1 layer (on parchment to protect filo from counter)
Fold Layer
Repeat again to make two layers
Shake some Walnut/Sugar Mix on
Then Roll dough & Twist
Butter top of twistie
Bake for 1/2 hr or until nice & brown & crispy
Cut in sections after it is done baking
