I don’t know if this counts, but I distinctly remember riding in my parent’s van coming back from a trip to Florida when my 5 year old younger brother informed us of his wish to be a giraffe when he grew up.
Interestingly enough he’s 6’4″ at age 24…
:)
Artist. Mom. Teacher. Mermaid. Veterinarian. Mechanic. Princess. Chef.
I always wanted to be a mommy when I was growing up!
National Geographic Photographer
When I was younger I always had a great passion for trains, I would always tell my parents that I wanted to drive one all by myself and travel the world!
I also shared this on Facebook. :) I do not have twitter though! sorry!
When I was little I wanted to be a vet or a singer…until I realized I would have to see the insides of animals too, and I get awful stagefright.
An actress. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to be, since I can remember.
I wanted to be a teacher when I was little. I became a teacher but eventually decide a different career path…but once a teacher, always a teacher (in different ways).

I wanted to be an actress/singer. In reality, I got my wish… Everyday I sing and play with my kids and they make me feel like a star!
I have always wanted to be a poet, there was a moment when I thought I would like to be a doctor but I quickly realized I can’t handle icky stuff/bad news or do math/science. I ended up going to college and getting a degree in poetry so I feel like I lived up to my childhood fancies to a certain extent.
I wanted to be a fashion illustrator. Now I would love to be a decorator stylist at Crate & Barrel!
A ballerina veterinarian soccer player :)
I wanted to be a teacher like my mom, or a lawyer because my sister had this Barbie who came with a pink business suit and pink briefcase!
When I was a little girl I would look up at the sky when the sun would shine down through the clouds in column like streaks and say that those were paths for the Angels. I wanted to be an Angel when I grew up so I could help people that had no other way to help themselves.
I wanted to be Indiana Jones before there ever was an Indian Jones! Exploring and adventuring and solving mysterious ancient puzzles…and even wearing a supercool hat! :)
There is a story that my family tells over and over and over again about when they would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up I told them that I wanted to make people happy. they would push me for a more defined answer but All I wanted was to make people happy. As I grew older and needed to make a decision (because putting “making people happy” on a college application wasn’t acceptable) I thought that nursing was the way to go. I did that for a few years and was ready for a change. I am now part owner of a staffing company where we help individuals get jobs to support their families and all in all make them happier people. SO i guess i have accomplished my goal of making people happy when I grow up!

I wanted to be a school bus driver. I wanted to be able to drive a big car with a large steering wheel and open the school bus door with the cool handle that swung around. You also could talk on a walkie talkie to other buses.
My dream was to be a mythologist, something that is in high demand these days. I spent five years studying Latin and one year studying Greek, but I don’t think I could speak any of it anymore. Oh course, the number of people who hold daily conversations in Latin are dwindling. I ended up getting my degrees in the history of art with a minor in religions, and spent my days as a writer.
I wanted to drive an ice cream truck and make ice cream all day!
Funny thing is that my first job was working in an ice cream shop! If only I could do it full time for the rest of my life!;)
I always remember wanting to have a happy healthy family. Like the whole white picket fence deal. Happy loving husband and children, etc. Hopefully someday I’ll have that :)
I always wanted to be an artist or “just” a Mom….and I am both :)

I remember wishing to be a teacher. I had a really hard time in school, so I wanted to be a teacher to help children who are struggling. I wished there would be someone like what I wanted to be, to be there for me. I am in the Medical field now, but regret not pursuing my dream of being a teacher.

When I was a child I really wanted to be an archaeologist, digging up fossils, bones, dinosaurs!!!

All I ever wanted to be when I grew up was a Mommy. I spent years going to college for Elementary Ed, nannying for 3 different, awesome families full of kids I still adore, and finally met the man of my dreams. The man I knew would be a perfect Daddy. When we learned we couldn’t conceive on our own I spent months full of tests, drs, injections, accupuncture, and ENDLESS prayer! I am now happy to share that I am the world’s PROUDEST, MOST BLESSED Mommy of 15 month old TWINS! I get to spend each and every second of each and every day looking my two little answered prayers right in their beautiful eyes and remembering how very very blessed I am!

I wanted to be an artist.
Early on (elementary school), I wanted to be a writer. Then, I wanted to be a physical therapist. Later, I wanted to be a meteorologist, and finally, a pastry chef. I ended up getting my BA and MA in political science, which I loved. :)

Since I can remember I have had a passion for the flora & fauna of our world. I wanted to be an oceanographer, which evolved into working in the rainforest, which evolved into being a veterinarian. I am now a nurse practitioner so in a way part of my dream came true. About 5 years ago I went to a rainforest in West Africa and I felt all those child dreams come to life…
When I was little I wanted to be a person that dressed up in that goofy ‘adventure’ outfit–oversized hat, khaki shorts with too many pockets, matching khaki vest–and I wanted to save the rainforest. I even started a little business with my friends selling handcrafted bookmarks to our second grade classmates for nickles and dimes. We made a grand total of 15$, and sent it to an organization that helps the rainforest.
Today, I’m thinking on a grander scale. I’m going to school to be an ecologist and make a difference wherever i can!
I wanted to be a model, but wasn’t pretty enough. Then I wanted to be an entertainer, but wasn’t talented enough. Studied art because it was fun but couldn’t make a living off of it. So after graduating art school and travelling the world by myself for awhile, I fell in love with the right man, married him and he changed my life. I went from a California Party Girl to a Midwestern Housewife- who dabbles in the arts.Funny how things work out.

I wanted to be a school teacher. My neighbor friend and I had an awesome schoolroom setup in her basement. We spent all our free time there playing. We both ended up becoming teachers. :)
