Ever wonder how the peace sign came to be?
The use of what has commonly become known as the "peace sign" began in 1958 in Britain by the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. It
was designed by a commercial artist, Gerald Holtom who had been specially commissioned
by the CND to create something for a demonstration. The "fork" in the
middle of the circle is how the letters "N" and "D" are spelled out
using the visual signals created by extending one's arms while holding
flags. The "N" and "D" stand for "Nuclear Disarmament."

My other thing I like from the 60’s is the music…the Beatles, Janis Jopkin, Bob Dylan.
Another thing I like from the ’60s? The music, of course!
Is it cheesy if I say my sister? We’re 8 years apart so she’s the peace baby and I’m the disco baby :)
Audrey Hepburn, Cary Grant, The Sound of Music, Motown, Surf rock, and the British Invasion… To name a few. :)
My other thing form the 60’s is the mod fashions and the music of course.
my favorite thing from the 60’s is tie dye

How simple life was! The innocence of my childhood.
All of this stuff is fantastic… It would be great to have!:)
The music was incredible but so were the clothes!!! Even TV in the 60s was SIMPLE! Love it!
Photos of my parents and of course the music!
My mom :)
The thing I liked most about the 60’s was the passion! We were young and truly thought we had the power to move mountains, change history and make the world a better place! We were passionate about questioning our parents belief systems and I believe we at least made people think and question traditional values.
the beach boys and great music!
Non-violent protest.
MLK Jr.
JFK.
Jimi Hendrix.
Janis Joplin.
The Beatles.
Vocalization of equality.
Sexual Revolution.

no reality TV.. juat sweet good tv shows…long straight hair….embroidered bell-botttom jeans…
I love all the fringe. Remember Greg’s Johnny Bravo jacket on The Brady Bunch. They put fringe on boots, jackets, purses! Love some fringe!
The idealism!
The music from the 60’s is my favorite!
I liked spending time at my grandparents Dairy – Brown’s Creamery in Royal Oak. It is now the David Pressley Beauty School building, but in the 60’s it was a place where locals could find all kinds of ice cream treats and fresh dairy products. My grandparents took great pride in their store and sadly it closed in 1969.
I loved my white patent Go Go Boots!
American Bandstand
the daisies! the colors!
I shared this on FB.
I really liked the styles of the 60’s — mini skirts, poor boy sweaters, chunky-heeled shoes. If you’ve every seen “Barefoot in the Park”, Jane Fonda’s clothes are 60’s cool! I always wished I could look like that or like Patti Boyd when she married George Harrison in her mini chinchilla coat! Then came the 70’s … some of the ugliest styles ever!
well, I love all the items you are giving away! I really like anything with a message and PEACE is so important. As I was born in 1962, one of my most vivid memories would probably to hear and see the Good Humor Truck comin’ down the street!
My husband!! He was born in ’65. :D
I loved camping, being a girl scout, bell bottoms (I had the best pair of monster bells), and everything GROVEY
Bell bottoms!!!
a change in the way people had in the use of language and style. we need that again..the ability to speak up, the wear your hair down and to have a good time.
Tie Dye. I’m still addicted.
The free thinking! And the peace activists!
Lava lamps, mood rings, granny glasses! And of course The Beatles…
The 60s were high school, college and my wedding!
Beads, flower power,VW’s,hip huggers, bell bottoms, long hair, and of course.. the music.:)
Breakfast At Tiffany’s
My favorite movie!!!
the music, the colors, but for me the most important thing is the TOLERANCE that made all the other things possible :)
I like that I was born in the 60’s!!
Kindergarten at Danbrook Elementary in Buena Park, CA…I began my long formal education in 1969!!! Now I teach kindergarten…
Martin Luther King Jr….I could read his speech everyday for inspiration and tears! And the advertising which amc’s madmen has brought back so brillantly!!

Goofy TV sows that weren’t all “reality” shows. And made-for-TV “message” movies.

The best thing about PEACE in the 60’s… non-violent protests that produced CHANGE!
My favorite thing from the 60’s was being young!
The 60’s meant love songs by the Beatles……sit in’s and love in’s – plus I loved my worn out bell bottom jeans!
