story people speak the truth
Meet Brian Andreas of Story People. He creates wonderful sculptures and works of art that incorporate ‘stories’ and bright images of figures.
When asked about his stories – he comments, "The stories still lead me around at their own pace & if I’m lucky, I understand them soon enough to make sense of what they’re trying to tell me. I feel that the stories are catalysts & they help give a new form to our unspoken thoughts & feelings. I see the strands that connect us, the ways we’re more alike than we’re different, the dreams we all have for the future of our children & our neighbors. The stories remind me that wherever we are, we live in the heart of the world."
Brian’s website offers loads of lovely stories with fun options… like free e-cards and ‘story of the day’ subscriptions.
Our Berkley location proudly carries a number of his cards seen here. And you can purchase many of his other books, prints and sculptures via his website.
One of my favorite stories goes a little something like this…
I tried for a whole summer to teach our cat to play the piano. We started with an easy song. It was 3 Blind Mice. My dad said it didn’t work because the cat had a tin ear, but I think it was because she kept looking around for the blind mice the whole time & never gave it her full attention.
