magical places for you and your muse

Meet Bob Thomas, folk artist extraorndinaire, of Monumental Finds in Frankfort, Michigan.

Steve and I were headed back home from our recent ‘up-north adventure’ when we drove by these amazing creations.  By the expression on my face, he knew there was a U-turn that needed to happen. (almost 9 years of marriage will do that to ya)

Bob’s shop is full of miscellaneous antiques and embellishments he finds in the Shenandoah Valley.

And in his spare time, he creates these magical places from a variety of recycled goods.

If my backyard was big enough, I would have a hard time not bringing one of these whimsical wonders home… or one would also look fabulous behind my fantasyland cottage on the beach. (maybe someday)

I love the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ feel of this one.

In my opinion, you’re never too old to have a magical tea party with real or imaginary friends.

Finding eclectic artists like Bob always inspire me to continue thinking outside the box… life is just more fun that way.
