cheerful times with michelle allen
This is my dear friend Michelle Allen. She lives in Battleground, Washington, but between our blogs and our trade show schedule we keep in touch like next door neighbors.
She is one talented chica… having illustrated several gift books and done many original paintings; But her real passion is to put the fun in function by creating items everybody uses including clocks, picture frames, vases, boxes, and more.
These are just a few snapshots of some of her clocks that are available at catching fireflies. We also sell a number of her designs online.
A portion of her artist statement reads, "I love the imperfect, slightly eccentric, witty quality of the world around me. My hope is that my art will never become so serious that I betray the uniqueness of this life that inspires me. Often if something seems too perfect in my art, I will skew it towards the unrealistic to capture the essence of a whim."
All of her designs are so eccentric and happy… how could time not fly by when you have such a cheeful piece of artwork on your wall?
These are fabulous!! I especially love the cat and fish!
“Hi!” April!! I was checking out your blog and couldn’t help but say “Hello”. What a great picture of you and Michelle. I hope all is well with you and Steve. I hope to see you in N.Y. this summer. I did see the pictures on your February blog post of our latest attempt to eat our way through N.Y.. Those are always good times getting to hang out with you amazingly taltented and fun women.
Tell Steve “Hello!”. I look forward to seeing you two and what our next adventure in N.Y. will be.
Happy Easter,
Jenni
Hi Jenni,
It’s so nice to hear from you. I do love our NYC rendezvous. I see you passed on hanging with Michelle on her latest trip to China. (hopefully you didn’t have to experience peeing in that hole she showed in a recent post!)
yikes!
Hey, thanks for the shout out! : )
I wish we really did live next door to eachother!!!
Looking foward to good times this summer season.
